Make money renting out your garden

Reading Time: 2 mins

Private space is valuable. You’re aware that you can rent out your spare rooms and even your parking space but now there’s a new space to rent, your garden.

Many are unable to afford a garden these days and are willing to pay to enjoy one for the day. Garday allows people to rent the use of the garden without having to own one.

How do I rent out my garden?

Garday is a new platform which allows you to rent out the use of your garden quickly and easily by the hour and/or by the day.

Simply sign up on www.garday.org and post a listing of your garden including what amenities you offer (e.g. a BBQ) and any additional information such as your garden rules. You have control over how much you charge and flexibility as to when you would like to rent your garden out.

WHY SHOULD I RENT OUT MY GARDEN?

It’s an easy, flexible money-making opportunity with no investment required. The garden is often the least used space people own, making it perfect to rent out. Also, unlike renting out rooms inside your home, your privacy is far less invaded. Additionally, assuming you already maintain your garden, no extra effort is required. A great passive income.

Your garden doesn’t have to be large to rent out, especially in built up areas where outdoor space becomes more valuable. For example in some central neighborhoods of Birmingham, only 2% of people have access to a private outdoor space. Even small, well-presented gardens become an attractive proposition to someone cooped up inside their apartment on a sunny day.

HOW MUCH MONEY CAN I MAKE?

This is largely up to you, however it could be very lucrative. You control the amount you want to charge for the use of renting out your garden and how often you want to do so. Money from any bookings made will go straight into your account (minus a small service fee).
